The South JeffCo Ridgebacks are Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA)
sanctioned ice hockey teams at the Varsity and JV levels, 5A, League II.
Registration for South JeffCo Ice Hockey will be available in fall 2026 for the upcoming season. Once registration is open, it will be communicated to all past players and those who have joined our Contact List and posted to this (Booster's) website.
The South JeffCo Ridgebacks will consists of three teams including Varsity, Upper JV and Lower JV.
This is a no cuts program with opportunity to improve and compete all season!
The Ridgebacks CHSAA season runs mid-November to mid-February with tryouts for initial team placement in November. Playoffs start in mid-February, if eligible.
Anticipated games for the 2026-2027 Season:
(19) varsity games in the 5A Division, League II for CHSAA
(10-12) JV games for each JV team
Weekly practices will consist of up to (4) on ice practices, (2) off-ice trainings and (1) mental/character coaching session.
Team Building Activities will include strength and conditioning workouts, dedicated goalie training, video reviews, Red Rocks workouts, mountain biking opportunities.
Players from South JeffCo Hockey are invited to participate in the 9280 Pond Hockey Tournament at Keystone Lake (January 2027)
Players will have the opportunity to participate with their teammates at this annual tournament held at Keystone Lake every January. Regular season games are not held that weekend to allow the players to compete at this exciting and unique event. This is a non-sanctioned tournament.

High Plains Hockey League is independent from the CHSAA and are made up of high school age players with teams divided among school areas. If you attend Chatfield, Columbine, Dakota Ridge, Evergreen, Conifer, Mullen, Green Mountain or D’Evelyn you will be assigned to the Mountain Ice team. Ice Hockey Summer Training opportunities for players wanting to hone their hockey skills, strength & conditioning and overall fitness level. Players can choose full camp or drop-in to best match the individuals summer plans and commitments.
On-Ice Training – planned to have (20) 90-minute skates in June through early-August. The skates will be high flow, high energy and conditioning during the summer in preparation for fall tryouts and skates.
Dryland Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Training – Dryland is led to increase speed, power, strength, endurance, stamina, balance, coordination and injury prevention. The staff has a unique ability to make the workouts fun and challenging in a way that also builds character, work ethic, competitiveness, and teamwork.
Hockey Players on Bikes – We plan weekly, fun mountain bike trips around the metro Denver area for players to get together and improve physical strength and conditioning in a fun environment.
